2024 Science Workforce Academy Preparation (SWAP) - Student Application

Thank you for your interest in the Science Workforce Academy Preparation (SWAP) Program!

SWAP is a one-week summer program at Santa Rosa Junior College. This program is intended for high school students entering their sophomore or junior year in the upcoming 2024-2025 school year who are interested in exploring careers in Health Sciences and STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math).

Through hands-on laboratory experiences and featured speaker presentations, participants will learn about healthcare and STEM careers including but not limited to:

Nursing
Nutrition & Dietetics
Dental
Medical Assisting
Radiology
Pre-Med
Chemistry
Biology
Physics
Computer Science
Mathematics
Engineering

Participants will learn from faculty and current SRJC students. As a part of the program curriculum, participants will explore self-development topics and master STEM-specific study skills in a welcoming and fun environment with their peers.

If selected to participate in the SRJC Summer 2024 SWAP, you will be expected to:

Fully participate during the entire week (June 24th - June 27th)
Secure transportation to and from SRJC
Return a parent/guardian permission and waiver liability packet.

In addition, parent(s)/guardian(s) will be expected to attend an orientation family night from 5:30-6:30 PM on Thursday, June 18, 2024.
